The Wannabe Data Scientist

So I’ve managed to create some sort of website / online CV / blog site whilst on holiday in a foreign currency on my phone. Francly that is incredible for someone who can still remember their Dad saying “this thing called the Internet is going to be a big deal”… Nice one Dad, but why didn’t you buy me 5000 shares in Apple back in 1994?

So, à quick review on Club Med Punta Cana for the records.

The resort is a genuine paradise with all the food, drink, activities and sport you could ever want. The grounds and beach along with the general facilities are exceptionally well kept and the complete crew of staff including the builders and gardeners are super friendly.

A special note on the childcare. The children’s club facilities are amazing but the real star are the staff. Our child has some additional/special/extra (whatever the politically correct term is this week) so I was worried a out dumping him in a club. Due to the nature of resort you often bump into the kids and are able to spy on them. On every occasion I witnessed them bring energy, kindness and fun to him and all the children. Not only are they fantastic there is lots of them, often I witnessed 1:3 ratios for the 4 – 6 year olds, never, with any age group did I see a situation that was under control, safe and again, fun. It’s flexible too, you can drop of in the AM pick them up when you want. There is a variety of kids play parks, pools and activities, too many to list, I thinknthe club Med website under sells these features.

A few minor words of warning. Water sports are extra. You have to higher a boat for an hour min which can take 5 which is about 300 USD, we did this and it was epic but understand it is quite a bit of extra cash. Also massages etc. Are also more expensive than I expected.

Overall, incredible, the childcare makes it an actual holiday for everyone, give flexibility to mix rest and family time all wrapped into to this paradise location with great food and a wonderful community of guests and staff. We are coming back next year, my wife does the booking of holidays and I’ve asked her to book now… What more of a recommendation can I give?
